ODDS AND ENDS FROM ROUTE 66 AND BEYOND

Today’s quick Route 66 trivia note pertains to Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner in Kingman, Arizona. Even though this diner is designed to capture the essence of the Route 66 of the modern era under the surface it is the real deal.
In the late 1930’s this was the Kimo Cafe and Shell station. The front dining area was once the gas island and the dining room at the east end of the building was the garage.
The orignal name was derived from combining the first two letters of Kingman and the first two in Mohave County. For more than forty years the Kimo Cafe was a favorite with locals and travelers alike.
Now, for those who enjoy old cars, hot rods, motorcycles, vintage trucks, good music, and fun that centers on these items I present the updated calendar of events for the Kingman area.
