Well, I survived the weekend and managed to focus on several key projects rather than act as a dog distracted by the green ball while chasing the red one. Now it is on to a new and exciting week.
It looks as though the first phase of the Old Trails Garage mural program will be complete this week. Details and photos will be provided as soon as possible.
I will be meeting with the new owner of the historic Brunswick Hotel this week to discuss similar improvements to the area and related matters. If your looking for a unique opportunity to have a business on Route 66 check out the link above.

Yesterday, I began evaluating photographs from our recent trip to determine which ones would be submitted for consideration as illustrations for the travel guide. Many of them provide clear evidence of why my favorite time of year on Route 66 is the month of October.
The fall colors, especially in Missouri, add incredible contrast to the road side. The brisk mornings also invigorate and quicken the spirit before embarking on a new days adventure.
Further to the west, California and Arizona on the other side of Flagstaff, are best enjoyed during the months of late fall, winter, or early spring. Temperatures can still be rather warm, especially out in the deserts near Amboy, but there is a good chance that the contrasts and awe inspiring photos will include a background of snow dappled mountains.
Well, this mornings post is a bit abreviated as a very full day looms on the horizon. See you on Tuesday. Don’t forget to vote.
