About Jim

For years people told me that I seemed to have a talent for telling people where to go. And I was often told that I could talk about America’s amazing story and road trips for hours even if I was the only one in the room and still enjoy myself.

So, way back in 1990, with gentle encouragement from my dearest friend, my wife Judy, I put those talents to work. I began telling people where to go, encouraging people to discover America with road trips, and sharing America’s amazing story.

It started with a few magazine articles and features for the local paper, the Kingman Daily Miner. Then came an opportunity to write a couple of books. Two of these, Checker Cab Photo History and The Big Book of Car Culture, led to an interview with Jay Leno.

This was the foundation for Jim Hinckley’s America, a multifaceted platform for folks that are passionate about the American story and road trips. And it was the dawning of a grand adventure.

Telling stories in Czechia, the Netherlands, Lake Elsinore, Tulsa, Germany and in dozens of cities. Friendships. Epic road trips. Countless opportunities to share the adventure.
