Road Trips, Route 66 and Arizona Adventures

Road trips, Route 66 and Arizona adventures figure prominently on the Coffee With Jim podcast.

Road trips, Route 66 and Arizona adventures were the topic of discussion on the January 7 episode of Coffee With Jim. Our guest was Chris Tuttle of the acclaimed Arizona Podcast. His infectious enthusiasm and excitement about road trips, Route 66 and Arizona made for a lively program. It was a perfect way to kick off a new year of shared adventures in Jim Hinckley’s America.

Coffee With Jim

As with many of the initiatives and projects developed at Jim Hinckley’s America the Coffee With Jim podcast has developed along a twisted path. Today initial technical issues and a steep learning curve are smile inducing memories. But I do have a well developed dark sense of humor.

I had toyed with the idea of developing a podcast long before the trigger was finally pulled. It seemed to be an ideal platform for sharing America’s story, and to inspire road trips by telling people where to go.

Hello 2024

Fast forward to 2024 and the first podcast of a new year. The program was free from glitches that have plagued us for quite sometime. And as Tuttle is a connsumate professional possessed with a passion about road trips, Route 66 and Arizona adventures, the audience was engaged. That sets the stage for what we envision as a very busy year.

We dream big at Jim HInckley’s America. And so we are developing quite a schedule for the first weeks of the year. On tap are discussions with Casey Claypool, Illinois Scenic Byways Director. But she is also the owner of Docs Just Off 66 in Girard, Illinois. She and her family have worked tirelessly to transform a derelict 19th century family owned pharmacy into a museum and restaurant without equal. Hers is a very inspiring story.

Likewise with the story that Blanca Schaffer has to share. She and her family are working to bring life to a ghost town along Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle. But what is even more inspiring is the work to foster development of a sense of community by tapping into the international fascination with Route 66.

Coming Soon

In Search of Lost Highways, a new video series from Jim Hinckley’s America.

The Coffee With Jim podcast is but one facet of what we see as a new and improved version of Jim HInckley’s America. We are also developing the In Search of Lost Highways video series on our YouTube channel that was mentioned in a previous post. Linkwed with this is the Walkabout series.

The Walkabout series is a virtual shared adventure. It was inspired by response to the Decade With Jim series on Instagram. Fans will be able to join Jim on his morning walks as well as expeditions. They will be ideal for people looking for incentive to jump on the treadmill or take a walk.

We also have plans to revive the educational video series this year. Time constraints curtailed this project. But two new programs are in development.

Beating My Gums

And, of course, we will be beating our gums and telling stories at festivals, conferences, and events this year. Speaking tours and book signings for 2024 start with an event at Auto Books Aero Books in Burabnk, California on January 20.

And we will be wrapping up the year with a program at the annual Miles of Possibility Commference in Edwardsville, Illinois this coming October. That will be a part of our fall Route 66 tour. Please note, we are now booking engagements for the rest of the year.

For 2024 the paln is to share more road trips, Route 66 stories, and Arizona adventures. As our theme song by tThe Road Crew says, come along for the ride.
