Sharing America’s story is what we do with Coffee With Jim, the podcast from Jim Hinckley’s America.

Sharing America’s story. That has been a passion of mine for quite some time. And now as the swirl of divisive rhetoric becomes a tsunami and the distortion of history to sell an agenda has become big business, I am consumed with a passion for sharing our amazing story.

In the vast landscape of American storytelling, few voices resonate as warmly and authentically as Will Rogers. So, there is a bit of inner conflict when I hear people refer to Jim Hinckley as America’s storytller. To be enshrined in the pantheon of storytelling legends with the likes of Michael Wallis, Will Rogers, and John Steinbeck is rather humbling.

But it was never my intent to make Jim Hinckley’s America a Jim show. Quite the contrary. As an example, consider our weekly podcast Coffee With Jim. Reviews use words such as engaging, inspiring, and fun. But what I enjoy most are notes about the podcast being a welcome respite from the worries, the stress, and tension of daily life.

In my opinion this review encapsulates what I envisioned for the program. “Coffee With Jim, the Jim Hinckley’s America podcast, takes listeners on a captivating journey across the United States. It is an audio exploration of the hidden gems and iconic landmarks that define the nation’s cultural tapestry. Hosted on Podbean, this podcast is more than just a show—it’s an invitation to discover America through its roads, its people, and its history.”

Sharing America’s Story One Road Trip at a Time

At its core, Coffee With Jim is about sharing America’s story. But we want to do more than inspire road trips and guide travelers to the best destinations. We want to put the spotlight on the people that bring to life the vibrant history and quirky attractions found along the backroads. We craft each episode so it inspires a passion for the open road. Perhaps it could be described as a relentless pursuit of good pie, stories told by fascinating people, and tangible links to history.

Jim Hinckley’s America podcast Coffee With Jim covers a breadth of topics and stories that captivate listeners. Previous programs have delved into the history of Route 66, and transported the audience to small-town diners with rich histories. We have introduced listeners to unique characters met along the way. Whether it’s exploring the remnants of ghost towns or celebrating the revival of forgotten landmarks, each episode offers a new adventure and a fresh perspective on America’s vast and diverse landscape.

It is one of the oldest continously operted motels on Route 66. And in the era of Route 66 renaissance, with Connie Echols at the helm, it has become a destination.

To ensure the clients have the best possible experience, knowledgeable clients are hired to serve as consultants. I am quite proud to say that I am one of the consultants. • Enchanted Trails Trading Post and RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico: Dating to the 1940s, this vintage trading post is also a haven for RV travelers. Located at the top of “Nine MIle Hill” west of Albuquerque this is near perfect blend of trading post charm and modern convenience. And as Vickie Ashcraft, the owner, is president of the Route 66 Association of New Mexico you are assured an authentic Route 66 experience.
  • Cactus Inn Motel, McLean, Texas: A quintessential stop along Route 66, the Cactus Inn Motel is known for its hospitality and historic significance. This mid 1950s gem was given a new lease on life by Angela Moreland. As a bonus it is next door to the delightful Red River Steakhouse.
